Audio Spirits are a great Cotton Ferox offshoot with Thomas Tibert and Bartosz Samitowski. Their EP Truly is out on Highbrow Lowlife and is a great manifestation of musical innovation and psychonautic audacity. We’re talking deep inner space here, and sink quickly into a warm and ethereal womb-like void filled with exploratory desire. As always when these gentlemen are involved, it’s a “no prisoners” attitude that sets the pace. We are thrust into their soundscape and then float on freely – we have no choice, it seems. Ambient sounds lure you into Samitowski’s voice, intoning some dark incantation. A spell or an expression of existential hope(lessness)? We will probably never know. No matter what, Audio Spirits deliver the soundscape goods and it’s always a disturbingly pleasurable and memorable experience.
They have also recently collaborated with Japanese artist Kazuya Nagoya on the single For Dahomey. Really great stuff!
