On Saturday the third of May 2014 Cotton Ferox and Friends enter the classic space of Fylkingen in Stockholm c/o a Highbrow Lowlife extravaganza. This in order to present music, films and performances for all senses, sensibilities and senselessnesses and all tastes, good as bad. It’s a heavy line-up this time, to celebrate the first Cotton Ferox concert on home soil since 2008.
First out is Karl Max, the artist-prankster and founding member of the legendary Lumber Island Acid Crew. He has promised to deliver some seriously funny art brut on Indian toy instruments.
Gustaf Broms is undoubtedly Sweden’s finest fine artist. Photography, performance art, films and music… Gustaf’s versatility and exquisite output has gained him a unique position on the international art scene. There will be a special performance this evening that is sure to make you feel inspired and impressed.
Copenhagen’s finest jazz/experimental DJ/live combo Henrik Møll & Rasmus Juel will then bop you ’til they drop you.
Kroll Splint (Thomas Tibert and Joakim Karlsson Kurén) mix the etheric and the brutal in a way that leaves you flabbergasted and 13th floor elevated. I recently read some poems together with them at the Syster Tjära Broder Djärv event in Stockholm and it was an honor indeed. They truly take you “away”.
Cotton Ferox return to Stockholm with an action-packed set of oral-aural satisfaction. Mind-bending megadelics on top of the classic concept of “conflict and contrast” will set your mind free (for a while). Augmented by our dear friend Dr Zaraza from Warsaw. Yes, there will be some cosmic meta-programming too. The set will end with the Cotton Ferox Big Band Experience, i.e. all the evening’s jesters together for one final megablast of fearless experimentation. It will be crowded on stage and chaotic, but that’s how we like it!
