With Vanessa’s Sinclair’s brilliant collection of cut-ups and poetry, Switching Mirrors, at the printers, it’s high time to take a look at what’s in store for the near future (meaning the next three months basically). Three titles are more or less scheduled right now, but there will of course be more during 2017.
California Infernal: Anton LaVey & Jayne Mansfield as portrayed by Walter Fischer
I knew this was going to be a popular book, but can happily say that it’s been doing really well, and that fast. A new, expanded edition, tentatively called “the Mansfield edition”, is now in the works. Collector Alf Wahlgren and myself are prepping and planning, and we’ll integrate more LaVey photos and also eight new colour pages with Jayne Mansfield-photos to truly knock your socks off. Very few copies remain of the first edition and the deluxe edition, so if you want to secure a copy you’d better act fast. Get happy at TRAPART!
The Fenris Wolf 9
Very soon, the editing process will begin in earnest for issue number 9. As mentioned before, this volume will collect papers and texts from the Psychoanalysis, Art & the Occult conference in London in May. I had the good fortune to be involved with Vanessa Sinclair’s massively successful and interesting conference, and the good vibes from that are still resounding internationally, and will now spill over into book form. The new issue will be dynamic, provoking, informative and just jam-packed with excellent material from all three disciplines.
Tom Benson: Visionary
Swedish photographer/artist Tom Benson is way too unknown to the world. I intend to change that by publishing his first real monograph: Visionary. Benson’s truly fantastic collages and photo montages have lingered in my mind since the mid 1980s, and it’s high time they should be shared with more people. I’ve collaborated with Benson’s widow, Marja Sipola Cuss, in selecting the very best of the very best images for the book, and it’s been a remarkably interesting process. The book also contains an interview with her, and a wonderful introduction by one of Benson’s best friends, Swedish artsist Carl Michael von Hausswolff. We have also prepared a beautiful print called William dreaming, displaying American author and artist William S Burroughs in a very trippy space.
