Are you interested in rock’n’roll nostalgia? Good. So am I. That’s why I originally put together Fanzinera – Photographs 1985-1988. An attempt to see what was actually there in the vaults that had been collecting dust since the 1980s’ happy and carefree fanzine days.
When the book was eventually published in 2012, some of the photographs had already been exhibited (and since then, quite a few times). These 36 photos were printed in an edition of ten copies (numbered and signed by me). The first three copies (1-3) were assembled and presented in a custom made box dressed in blue cloth and with the title/name stamped in gold on the front cover. Included is also a letter of “authentication”.
The photos are portraits/live shots of Alex Chilton, Bernard Sumner, Blue For Two, Chris Bailey, Died Pretty, Ebbot Lundberg, Freddie Wadling, Genesis P-Orridge, Gun Club, Henry Rollins, Husker Dü, Iggy Pop, Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Joe Coleman, John Lydon, Jonas Almquist, Kim Salmon, The Leather Nun, Lars Cleveman, Lee Ranaldo, Legendary Stardust Cowboy, Lux Interior, Lydia Lunch, Martin Rössel, Richard Kern, Sator, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Sonic Youth, Sort Sol, Steve Kilbey, The Cramps, The Godfathers, The Shamen, The Stomachmouths, Thurston Moore and Union Carbide Productions.
